April Showers Bring May Flowers

It is rather difficult to get this sweet girl to smile, especially for the camera, but when she does, it's quite possibly one of the best things in the world. She doesn't always feel uber girly, but this day, she wanted to wear all the bracelets she owned and wanted to put on the wings and tutu Mima gave her. So, she pranced around the apartment for a bit in these and was so adorable! If you have to live in the "projects", at least said projects put forth quite a bit of effort to get bring the village together and do fun things. The picture below was the Easter Egg hunt that our apartment court put on one weeknight. It was just our court, so it was a good turnout, but not too big. They divided up all the eggs by the amount of kids, so each kid got 8. It's rather difficult to make a bunch of kids stand around staring at eggs for too long before they get a little stir crazy. Good thing Kaylen had her good pal Tanner to distract her before the hunting began!

She caught on really fast and it was SO cute!!!

Our sweet princess

Then, the following Saturday was the whole Village's Easter Egg Festival! There were lots of eggs, face painting, pictures with the Easter Bunny himself, popcorn, cotton candy and other projects to do! It was a free-for-all on the eggs, but our sweet little girl was totally okay stopping when Mommy and Daddy thought she had enough... which she did.

She sat so well to get her butterfly painted on her face. She was so cute and loved to look at it in the mirror when we got home.

On our way back to the apartment, we stopped at the little school's playground because it's different from the one we have in the Court. She played on that for quite a bit and had a ball. She particularly liked asking us to open her taped plastic eggs so she could have more chocolate.

Sitting just like Daddy

The weather was beautiful, so later that day we headed up to North Salt Lake to visit our very good friends, Jason, Ali and DANE! We love Dane and now that Kaylen isn't such a boss, they do a bit better. But Kaylen still knows how to rule the joint. Good thing Dane is happy to play anyway! They're super adorable.

April and May are big months for us! This weekend, even though we've done our share of egg hunting, it is actually Easter. Next week, on the 28th, we have my big 3-0 Birthday!!! My parents are flying in to spend a bit of with us and also to watch Kaylen so Gregg and a good friend of ours can throw me a birthday bash! Not yet sure how I feel about 30, but I do know that life has been good to be so far, so hopefully, it only gets better from here! I'm very blessed to have all the family and love in my life.... so 30 should be painless.... right!?

Then on May 5th, Gregg is graduating!!! We are super proud of him! We're going to celebrate that again with family and friends.... more reasons to celebrate! It's a little bittersweet as Gregg doesn't get to feel as most graduates do... the feeling of being done, but it is an incredible accomplishment and he has worked SO hard, we couldn't gush more about our guy. Yes, he has a wee bit more education ahead of him.... ha ha.... BUT, we are so excited to see him graduate! Time is flying but, with all the great weekends ahead, we have much to look forward to. Only afraid time will pass too quickly! HAPPY EASTER!!
