Getaways

Napa Valley, California
Knowing that Gregg being in Medical School this fall, we knew we had to do as much as we could before such a restrictive schedule began. SO, what better time to take that trip to Napa Valley, CA with my sister that we'd been talking about for so long!? I headed out to San Francisco May 13th to spend the weekend with her! Gregg was amazing and took on a whole weekend alone with the kiddo! We headed to Napa that same night and got to our wine tasting bright and early Saturday morning! It was a little chilly in Napa, so laying by the pool was out, but that just meant more time for wineries! The above picture was in front of our first winery, Robert Sinskey! They had some very cool labels on their bottles and my first bottle purchased was one that made me think of Gregg. ;-)

This was the winery that brought the most fun, Regusci. One of the men working was nice enough to keep the tasting room open just for us! We ended up having a ball and it was a beautiful start to the evening!

We had such a nice time! Jumping from winery to winery, we also hit up a couple others, one of them was Michael Mondavi, where I bought my other bottle. It's such a beautiful part of the country up there and I enjoyed being able to spend it with Julie and have so much quality time together. I was so glad we were able to make it happen!

VEGAS BABY!
Gregg took a guy's trip to Las Vegas with a few of his friends as a celebration for all his accomplishments this year with Graduation and Medical School. He had a great time lounging by the pool and blackjack during the day and checking out a few strip hot spots by night!

As much as we missed each other, it was nice to get some great quality time in with our friends!! We both had really great times and brought home some wonderful memories!

Graduation!

We couldn't be more proud of our Graduate!! Gregg graduated from the University of Utah on May 5th, 2011 with a Bachelor of Science in Health Promotion and Education with a minor in Chemistry. And if that sounds impressive, it's because it IS!!

Gregg worked SO hard for SO long and although he has a long road ahead of him with Medical School coming up, we had to do all we could to celebrate this amazing milestone in his education!

Gregg's whole family came to town to attend his Graduation and come to his Grad Party! We all know how hard he worked, between going to school full time and working full and part time throughout while being an incredible husband and father. His dedication is astounding and continues to amaze us all. We are all so proud of him and on that day, the pride was beaming on all our faces!

Kaylen clapping and cheering for her Daddy!

There's our guy!!

Gregg's Dad even bough me a bouquet of flowers for the being a supportive wife! It's not always been easy, but we've always done it together!

Gregg family stayed in the hotel close by so we got to take Kaylen swimming again!

Gregg's Graduation Party!

Headed out to Gregg's favorite bar, A Bar Named Sue, after the party! We even got Jay and Chez to come!!

Gregg, you are one of the smartest, most dedicated people I'll ever know. You continue to amaze us every day. It's been an honor to be on this journey with you and there is so much more of this adventure to come! We can't wait to be there with you every step of the way!

Turning 30!!

Yep, it's true! It's official, I turned 30! And figured, if it was going to have to happen, if I was really going to have to enter my 30s, then I was going to send my 20s out with a bang! Gregg and Kaylen took me out on my birthday to Joe's Crab Shack. It was very yummy seafood and I had the best company!

They even made me put the hula skirt on and dance with them as they sang a Birthday song. Kaylen had to get in on the action and she provided a much better show!

And two of our very best friends, Carissa and Casey, came over when we got back from dinner to bring some champagne and strawberries to make my birthday extra special!

And if having an amazing actual birthday wasn't enough, Gregg and Carissa spent a substantial amount of time planning the best and most amazing 30th birthday I could have asked for at Carissa and Casey's house!

My parents came to town to help celebrate my big day and to watch Kaylen so we could stay out extra late! ;-)

One of the best things about making such great friends in Salt Lake is how much they love Kaylen. Us with Casey and Carissa, our very incredible party hosts!
We had to make sure that my parents and Kaylen got to partake in some of the fun, so they came for the beginning of the party! We were so lucky to have them there!

I was very lucky to have so many of my friends come to celebrate with me!

It was SUCH a fun night! The party was so nice! Then we took the party to a nearby bar. A special thanks to my hubby and Carissa and everyone that came to celebrate!

The next day, we headed to the Utah Hogle Zoo with my parents!

It seriously was the best birthday I could have asked for. So many people helped make it special for me! If I had to turn 30, I was able to celebrate it with so many people I love! Thanks for making it wonderful!!

Easter 2011 in Wyoming

It's amazing how behind I got this time, but I have to go back and get them up on the Blog because someday I'd like to have these memories recorded for our family!!

So, we spent Easter in Wyoming this year and had a great time! Gregg and I are very lucky that both of our parents are always great at putting on the holidays and making them feel special. This was no exception.

Cute Neenie (his newest nickname given to him by Kaylen) the Easter Bunny

Two happy grandparents

Even though there was still snow on the ground, it was pretty decent weather considering so Kaylen got out to enjoy her bubbles!

Kaylen and Grandma Rie (another Kaylen appointed nickname)

A lesson learned long ago from my mother, no Easter is complete without coloring eggs!

Enjoying every minute!

Having all kinds of fun to include a little dance time!

Couldn't manage to get my cursor to go to the top of the picture above, but it's Kaylen on our Koski provided Easter egg hunt when we got home to Salt Lake that morning. Gregg and I hide each other's eggs and we get to have another egg hunt thanks to them! We all got very spoiled this year, as always, but more than anything, appreciate the love of our family.
